Our past. Our place. Our future.
One city. Many voices. Big questions.

Inspired by the energy of TED Talks and M9, Tuku Kōrero | Tāmaki Talks brings together well-known personalities, cultural leaders, political thinkers, creatives, community voices, innovators and rangatahi to explore the questions that will shape the future of Tāmaki Makaurau. Who are we? Where have we come from? Where are we heading? What does it truly mean to belong here? Throughout the evening, powerful discussion will be woven with performance and entertainment, feeding the mind, stirring the heart and lifting the soul.

Panelists include Oscar Knightly, Peeni Henare, Precious Clark, Chloe Swarbrick, Bailey Mackey, Eda Tang, and more. Expect courageous conversations, different perspectives and ambitious ideas as they confront the opportunities, tensions and possibilities facing Auckland. In between panels, you will be treated to a performance from the award-winning Hawaiki TŪ.

Created by Tumutumuwhenua Cultural Trust, this signature event is part of the inaugural Poumatua Festival, a vibrant three-day celebration of the birth of Auckland, presented in partnership with Auckland Live and supported by Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei and Auckland Council Events.
Poumatua Festival is set to bring kapa haka, kōrero, markets and Māori culture into the heart of the city, with events taking place in the Auckland Town Hall and Aotea Square as well. Tāmaki Makaurau has always been a meeting place of peoples, cultures, histories and aspirations. Today, tangata whenua stand alongside tangata Tiriti, taurahere, communities from across Aotearoa and the world who now call this extraordinary city home.

Come join us for Tuku Kōrero | Tāmaki Talks - a moving night of big voices and bold ideas, nau mai rā.
