Nanny Assis is a Brazilian from Bahia, a master of bossa nova, forro and a myriad of African Brazilian sounds. He is a New York-based vocalist, composer, instrumentalist and master in percussion. Nanny has been awarded best male vocalist, best show NYC and lifetime achievement in Brazilian Jazz. He is quite simply a gifted artist, toured with Paul SImon Kenny Baron, Vinicius Cantauria, John Patitucci. He is recording his new CD with Ron Carter Bass.

Nanny is an outstanding vocalist and talented songwriter - anyone who hears him perform immediately feels his rhythms and notes often snatching audiences away, other times energising them enough to stand up and dance "and sweat until you cant, sweat no more" to use Bob Marley's lyrics.

Nanny has been recording and collaborating with vocalist Maggie Gould, based in New York originally New Zealand. Maggie has her inspiration from Ella Fitzgerald, Chet Baker, Nancy Wilson, Ivan Lins, Jobim,l Maggie has performed with The NZ Symphony Orchestra also danced in musical theatre shows London/Paris.  Her music is described by LA critics as soft, sultry vocals with space, her performances have taken her to release her CD -ToDo Amor at  The Blue Note, and festivals and jazz clubs internationally.
The LA Times stated, "Maggie Gould was made for Bossa nova, sold-out shows at Jazz Forum, New York she tells stories and enchants her audiences." Maggie has recently been recording with Claude McKnight, grammy awarded vocalist from Take 6.

Kevin Field is New Zealand's maestro pianist, composer, arranger. Dr Kevin Field has recorded with the top jazz artists and recorded on over 40 CDs, he is a senior lecturer in Jazz Studies at Auckland University. He has received rave reviews at Ronnie Scotts and Blue Note performing jazz, Brazilian Jazz and his own compositions. Kevin's improvisation is world-class and lifts you to another level, his style, swing and impeccable timing leaves him in demand as a touring musician. The trio will be with a full band.

"I have seen Nanny Assis perform in many scenarios and have always been impressed with his artistry and what he contributes to each performance. Recently, I’ve had the opportunity to listen to his composition skills and his production skills in addition to his musicianship. I am blown away with his superb talent. He evokes everything that I love about Brazilian music which I fell in love with when I first saw the film "Black Orpheus" in the early 60s. Nanny Assis is truly a genius, a term that is thrown around sometimes too loosely, but not in this case." - Gail W. Boyd
