Phil has a wealth of experience and creativity, honed over decades of working in the performing arts both in Aotearoa and internationally. After stepping away from the industry for a short period, Phil is eager to dive back into the dynamic world of theatre, and we are excited that he has joined us here at Q.
Phil began his career at the Orange Tree Theatre in Richmond, UK. He has worked with multiple organisations in production and producing roles including Pleasance Theatre in London and Edinburgh, Auckland Arts Festival, Auckland Live, Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra and Auckland Writers Festival. He has worked extensively as an independent producer, creating Jumpboard Productions and touring new works of Douglas Wright, Tim Finn, and produced the highly successful series of Live Live Cinema works conceived by Leon Radojkovic.
On joining the Q team Phil says: “I am delighted to be joining the team at Q Theatre. I have always found the venue so welcoming as an audience member, and the buzz in the venue at festival time is unbeatable! I look forward to supporting the team in any and every way I can to continue the growth and sustainability of Q, and acknowledge the mahi of those who have gone before.”
Phil's extensive experience in production management, event project management, and producing, along with his deep passion for the performing arts, makes him a perfect fit for this crucial senior leadership role at Q. We’re thrilled by the fresh perspective he’s already contributing to the team and eagerly anticipate how his unique skill set will influence the future of our programming and productions at Q.
